VENUE INFORMATION

Yes, Grand Sapphire is fully licensed to host civil ceremonies through Croydon Council so you can host both your ceremony and reception under one roof.

It makes everything so much more hassle-free, with no need to travel between locations, and it can also help you save on extra venue and transport costs.

All you need to do is arrange your registrar directly with Croydon Council, and we’ll take care of creating a seamless, memorable experience for you and your guests

Grand Sapphire is conveniently located in Croydon with excellent transport connections. We are approximately 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport and just 15 minutes from East Croydon Station, which offers fast and frequent links to Central London. This makes our venue easily accessible for both local and international guests.

We offer a range of beautifully designed event spaces to suit celebrations of every size.

Our iconic grand pillar-less ballroom can seat up to 1,000 guests, making it perfect for large weddings and grand occasions. For more intimate events, we also have elegant suites available: the Sapphire Suite accommodates up to 500 guests, the Emirates Suite up to 350 guests, and the Rhubarb Suite up to 144 guests.

Our events team will be happy to guide you in choosing the most suitable suite and layout, ensuring your celebration feels perfectly balanced, comfortable, and unforgettable.

Dry hire gives you exclusive use of the venue, with complete freedom to create your event exactly how you’ve imagined it. You’ll have access to your chosen banqueting suite, our kitchen facilities, along with tables and chairs giving you a perfect blank canvas to bring your vision to life.

You’re free to arrange your own catering, décor, entertainment, and suppliers. However, you won’t be doing it alone. A dedicated Grand Sapphire event manager will be with you every step of the way.

On the day of your event, our event manager will take full control liaising with all your suppliers, ensuring everyone arrives on time, delivers exactly what’s promised, and that everything runs according to your finalised itinerary. Every detail, no matter how small, is carefully managed behind the scenes.

Yes, you will be allocated a dedicated Events Manager who will be with you every step of the way, from the very beginning right through to the end of your celebration.

From your initial planning stages, they’ll be your main point of contact, helping you coordinate details and ensuring everything is perfectly aligned with your vision.

On the day of your event, your Events Manager will be fully on hand to run everything seamlessly. They will liaise with all your suppliers, ensure everyone delivers exactly as promised and on time, and make sure the event flows perfectly according to your final itinerary.

Yes, we do! Our dedicated event team will work closely with you to design and finalise the perfect floor plan for your event. We understand every celebration is unique, so we’ll help you create a layout that’s fully customised to your guest numbers, style, and requirements.

Grand Sapphire benefits from a private on-site car park with ample free parking for your guests, including dedicated disabled parking spaces. In addition, free parking is also available on the main road.

Strictly no fireworks are allowed.

Yes, if you have booked the venue for your event, feel free to take photos at the venue.

The Emirates Suite, Sapphire Suite and Grand Ballroom all come with a separate foyer. The Rhubarb suite does not come with a foyer; however, the Rhubarb Suite comes with a red-carpet entrance, giving you and your guests grand access.

BOOKING & PAYMENT

We work on a first-come, first-served basis; we conduct only one wedding a day and accept deposits as security against bookings. Therefore, it is advisable to book your reception on your chosen wedding day as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.

We’d be delighted to welcome you for a private viewing of our venue. Simply contact our events and sales team by calling 020 8686 2905 and selecting option 2 or fill the enquiry form.

All viewings are by appointment only, allowing us to give you our full attention, show you the most suitable suites, and discuss your event in detail.

A non–refundable booking deposit of 25% is required to secure your preferred date.

CATERING

Yes, we offer bespoke in-house catering across multiple cuisines, tailored to suit your event and cultural preferences. Our experienced culinary team can create menus to complement your celebration, from traditional dishes to contemporary favourites. We are also happy to cater for coeliac and other dietary requirements, we simply ask that you inform our events team at the time of booking so we can plan accordingly. Yes, if you have a bar license, you can set up your bar. No corkage charge applies. If you have any questions on this at all, please speak to an Events Coordinator.

Yes, absolutely. Your caterers will have full access to our fully equipped Industrial kitchen, where they can work independently and comfortably. They’re welcome to cook onsite and serve freshly prepared food to your guests, ensuring everything is served at its best.

SOUND & AV

Definitely! We welcome DJs, live bands, Dhol players, and other entertainment, all within our indoor safety and noise regulations.

Yes, Grand Sapphire operates within a 95dB sound limit to ensure comfort for all guests and compliance with local regulations.

Our system is not a cut-off limiter and will not shut down your equipment. Instead, it uses an intelligent, dynamic EQ and transparent sound management system, allowing music and entertainment to continue smoothly while maintaining optimal sound quality. We kindly ask that your DJ, band, or entertainment provider is made aware of this in advance.

We have a beautiful boutique hotel on-site with 40 elegantly designed rooms, perfect for you and your guests to stay comfortably after your celebration.

It really makes the whole experience so much easier no travel stress, no late night journeys, just a smooth and relaxed stay where you can fully enjoy your special day from start to finish.

We offer exclusive discounted rates for you and your guests when you book your event with us.
